Alex hernandez - concert technician
With over 40 years in the piano industry, Alex has worked with many of the finest piano houses in the country as an expert piano consultant and technician, as well as a piano store owner and a national brand manager for the German tier 1 piano maker Blüthner of Leipzig. Alex has developed a depth of knowledge and a breadth of expertise that have earned him the trust and partnership of many fine northern California institutions and piano houses as well as a cadre of artists and serious piano owners.
As a piano technician, Alex passed his RPT exams in 1992 and has gone on to pursue extensive factory training with Steinway, Blüthner and Yamaha, including Bösendorfer and Disklavier.

Basic Technical services
The goal of all professional piano service is to elevate the performance of your instrument. Since the action of a piano contains over 6,000 parts, a regular maintenance schedule is required to bring your instrument to peak performance and ensure it continues to play well as it ages. Depending on the condition of your instrument, basic technical services will include a few or all of the following: internal cleaning, regulation of the action, dampers and keys as well as re-facing of hammerheads, voicing and tuning. More extensive repair work and optimization may be discussed at any time.
Tuning
Tuning is the first and most basic step in piano maintenance. Regular tuning will provide more stability in the sound of your piano and increase its value. Tuning is an important investment in your prized instrument. |
